I love the concept of this website. I am currently going through a painful period in my life where my only option is to be still and wait for God to work things out. I also am using knitting to help me to be still, when every fiber of my being wants to take matters into my own hands and make my circumstances better. However, I know that working out my circumstances is God's work and not mine. He is able to work things out much better than I can. Therefore, I knit and knit and knit and have the faith to believe that one day I will look up from my needles and discover the He has worked things out for without any help from me. Knitting is His gift and provision for me for this period of time. If it wasn't for knitting, I'm sure I would go mad.

You should divide the stitches as evenly as possible on the needles. It may not always work out to have the identical number, but try to keep roughly the same number on each of the dpns.

@Diana - The instructions that you identifed as a challenge are telling you how many stitches to cast on at the beginning of the row. You cast on two additional stitches the first two times, then 1 st the next 2,3 or 5 times (based on the size you are making - two times for small, 3 times for med, and 5 times for large). At that time you'll have 23, 29, or 37 sts on your needle. Hope that helps you !

Coat: The piece is knitted from the bottom of the back and up towards the neck. Cast on 11-15-19 sts on needle size 7 mm [US 10 ½] with red. Knit in moss sts and stripes – see above- until finish – at the same time cast on new sts each side on every other row (i.e. end of each row): 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 2-3-5 times = 23-29-37 sts. Continue until the piece measures 21-28-36 cm [8 ¼” – 11” – 14 ¼”]. Then bind off the mid 5-7-9 sts for the neck. Split the work and finish each side separately – all measures are done from here from now on. JUST WONDERING IF YOU COULD HELP ME WITH THIS I DON'T GET WHERE IT SAYS 2STS 2 TIMES ONWARDS. THANKS. DIANA
