Frequently Asked Questions

1. What happened to your classes?

I am no longer able to offer private lessons due to family circumstances. I do occasionally have workshops at local yarn shops. Please watch my blog for announcements of the classes.

2. I need knitting or crocheting help.

You can visit our Learn page for some resources on knitting and crocheting. For assistance with our patterns, visit our Ravelry group where you can ask questions. You can also submit a question to Ask the Knitting Teacher and read the answer on the web!

3. How do I read your patterns?

My patterns are delivered in PDF (Portable Document Format) files that are readable on a variety of platforms. To read the files, you'll need the free Adobe Reader available here

4. Where can I get help for your patterns?

You can send me a personal message via the contact form or you can post a question on my Ravelry group.

5. How do you ensure your patterns are correct?

I do my best to ensure that all my patterns are error-free and do lots of editing and proofing myself. Patterns published by third-party publications are edited and tech edited by editors hired by those publications. For patterns that I self-publish, I do my best to have at least 2-3 test knitters for each pattern. However, please also recognize that the test knitters and I are human, and sometimes a error may slip through. If you think you have found an error, please contact me and let me know. Thanks!

6. Can I sell things I make from your patterns?

Yes! Most designers restrict their patterns to "personal use only" and will not allow you to sell items you make from them. I offer an unlimited license for you to make items to sell as a part of the license of my patterns. You can make and sell as many items as you like, as long as you make them personally (not mass produced) and you sell them to the end user (retail sales only, not wholesale).

7. What is your return policy?

Sadly, because these items are easy to copy and retain, I cannot offer refunds for patterns.

8. Can I be one of your test knitters?

I already have a nice list of wonderful test and sample knitters who span a myriad of skill levels. However, if you'd like to be considered as a test or sample knitter, you can send me an inquiry with some brief information about you, your Ravelry username (if you have one), and your knitting experience. I may not be able to respond to every inquiry or use everyone who wishes to test or sample knit, but I certainly appreciate and am flattered by your interest. Potential test and/or sample knitters may be required to fill out a detailed questionnaire regarding your skills/experience.
